Firstly congratulations on the birth of your child. With that being said, we have been in your position and it’s perfectly normal to grieve as you let go of how you imagined your child and start thinking about that challenges your family will face in the future. But you have to celebrate, firstly the blessing bestowed on you and your family and then all the challenges your RTS warrior will overcome.
The people around you will not know what to say. When we felt comfortable to share the news about Aara we had several people tell us “children are a blessing” and a few “so sorry”. The feelings you have are completely normal, although I will say with the early interventions now available from Occupational Therapy, Physio, Speech and Language, Music Therapy and loads of others, your child will maximize his/her potential.
Below are some resources we have managed to pull together as a starting point;
UK RTS Support Group – this is a UK charity supporting people affected with RTS and raising awareness.
Cerebra – A charity helping children and families lead a better life together.
Subscribe to www.rts-warrior.com stay connected with us as we continue to post on the challenges we face and how we are planning to overcome them.
Finally from my husband and I – we wanted to say thank you for taking the time to go through our blog. Please get in touch if you have any comments/questions or just want someone to talk to.

Thank you for this blog. Aara is beautiful, there is so much love in every piece of writing and the photos of her milestones are wonderful.
Thank you for your kind words.
